Are treatments covered by insurance?
Insurance coverage is dependent upon the insurance policy and extent of coverage. Some policies do cover acupuncture, especially for disorders of pain, and they cover the costs of the office visit and other types of therapies such as electrical stimulation, acupressure, and application of heat. Some policies require a referral from a primary care physician for the treatments to be covered and may have annual limits.
How can I check to see if my policy covers acupuncture?
